一種應(yīng)用于LED驅(qū)動的新型過溫保護電路

摘要: 基于0.18 μm BCD工藝,設(shè)計了一種應(yīng)用于LED驅(qū)動的新型過溫保護電路。利用基于電流求和的Banba型帶隙基準(zhǔn)源來產(chǎn)生高低閾值電壓,從而消除芯片在過溫點附近的振蕩現(xiàn)象,同時帶隙基準(zhǔn)源加入了高階曲率補償,提高了過溫閾值點的精度。通過Cadence軟件對該電路進行了仿真驗證。結(jié)果表明,在-40℃~150 ℃的溫度變化區(qū)間內(nèi),高低閾值電壓的溫度特性好,溫度系數(shù)為2.9 ppm。當(dāng)溫度高于131.8 ℃時,能夠觸發(fā)過溫保護;當(dāng)溫度低于109.4 ℃時,電路可恢復(fù)正常工作,遲滯量為22.4 ℃。該過溫保護電路精度高,穩(wěn)定性好,可應(yīng)用于LED驅(qū)動芯片中。

A novel over-temperature protection circuit for LED driver

Abstract: In this paper, a new type of over-temperature protection (OTP) circuit for LED driver is designed. It is based on 0.18μm BCD process. In this paper, Banba′s bandgap reference based on current summing is used to generate high and low threshold voltage, to eliminate the oscillation phenomenon near the over-temperature point of the chip. The bandgap reference is added with high-order curvature compensation to improve the accuracy of the over-temperature threshold voltage. The circuit is simulated by Cadence software. The results show that the high and low threshold voltage has good temperature property, the temperature coefficient is 2.9 ppm in a temperature range of -40 ℃ to 150 ℃. When the temperature is higher than 131.8 ℃, OTP can be triggered. When the temperature is lower than 109.4 ℃, the circuit can return to normal operation, and the hysteresis quantity is 22.4 ℃. The OTP has high precision and stability, and can be applied to LED driver chips.

引言
作為第四代的綠色光源,LED有著高效、環(huán)保、安全、節(jié)能等特點[1,2]。在我國大力發(fā)展節(jié)能經(jīng)濟的大背景下,LED產(chǎn)業(yè)將成為我國經(jīng)濟發(fā)展的重要組成部分[2]。LED的工作需要專門的LED驅(qū)動芯片,而芯片的長時間工作會使得電路的環(huán)境溫度升高,從而導(dǎo)致半導(dǎo)體器件的擊穿,降低LED的使用壽命[3,4]。因此,過溫保護電路成為了LED驅(qū)動芯片的一個必要的組成模塊。
