Southco Asia Ltd., a subsidiary of Southco Inc., a leading global provider of engineered access solutions such as locks, latches, captive fasteners, electronic access solutions and hinges/ positioning technology, today announced the company’s participation at China Security 2018, the 14th China International Exhibition on Public Safety and Security 2018. At the event, which is being held October 23-26 at the China International Exhibition Center (New Center) in Beijing, Southco is showcasing a series of advanced security products for a wide range of applications from robots, artificial intelligence (AI) and drones, to surveillance cameras and intelligent public lighting systems.
In the security industry, solution providers are increasingly leveraging digital technologies like big data, AI and Internet of things (IoT) to deploy state-of-the-art solutions and improve security levels. The latest technologies such as AI-enabled facial recognition, remote sensors and controllers, robots and connected cameras are now widely deployed to protect people and property. To support this development, Southco offers solutions that include components with advanced mechanical design to help build devices and their backend supporting infrastructure.
Highlights of Southco’s participation at Security China 2018 include:
·IT infrastructure: From hard-disk ejectors, plungers to rack handlers, Southco products enable the modular design and tool-less operation of IT infrastructure, such as modular servers and storage systems. Big data and AI require the fast and secure deployment of large scale IT infrastructure while also minimizing system disruption and use of human resources during maintenance. Traditional rack mounted server touch points are being replaced by operator control panel (OCP) touch points. Southco’s products not only have special designs to ensure speedy and smooth deployment and operations, but also meet strict mechanical and thermal requirements -- withstanding high temperatures in a 24/7 operating environment -- to greatly enhancing the efficiency and stability of IT systems in the digital era.
·Secure surveillance cameras: Surveillance cameras, especially those enabled by AI, are an emerging part of IoT infrastructure widely used to actively monitor environments to ensure safety. Southco cameras are used to provide physical protection for IoT systems against extreme weather, theft and other threats, enabling continuous operations and minimizing maintenance costs.
·Airport body scanners: Airport customs require highly efficient equipment and technical support to facilitate daily operation. Southco offers display mount and positioning technology products which help maintain uninterrupted security check functions at facilities despite long hours of operation.
·Robots and drones: The markets for robots and drones have grown exponentially in recent years, with the annual global drone market already reaching US$ 100 billion. Southco provides secure electronic locking and quick access fasteners, which safeguards devices and enables smooth operations and high levels of durability in all weather conditions.
David Zhong, Business Development Manager of Southco said, “In the security market, providers are utilizing digital technologies to develop intelligent security products that have never been seen before. As an expert in engineered access solutions, our goal is to provide products that enhance physical security and maximize the benefits of solutions to end-users.”
“At Southco, we specialize in creating first impressions that last, with each of us playing a key role in supporting our customer-centric culture. The diverse security solutions exhibited today once again demonstrate our commitment to providing tailored products to meet our customers’ needs,” added Zhong.
