S12VR: S12 MagniV Mixed-Signal MCU for Relay Driven Motor ApplicationsÂ
The S12 MagniV portfolio of mixed-signal microcontrollers (MCUs) streamlines your automotive engineering by offering smart, optimized integration of high-precision analog components with the proven S12 MCU. The S12VR family is the first set of devices based on the LL18UHV process technology in the portfolio. The LL18UHV technology combines the highly reliable 180 nm non-volatile memory (NVM) process with modifications that allow the integration of high-voltage analog components on a single piece of silicon. These analog components include an automotive voltage regulator, LIN physical layer, low-side drivers, high-side drivers and inputs. By enabling extensive analog integration on the MCU, developers can connect high voltage signals and power supplies directly to the MCU in their design. The 12V devices are capable of withstanding the rigorous requirements of the automotive environment (up to 40V), which can occur during load dump conditions.
The new high-voltage components are integrated with the industry-proven 16-bit S12 CPU and memory subsystem, consisting of ECC-protected flash memory and real EEPROM. This S12 CPU is fully compatible with the S12G family of cost-effective, highly integrated MCUs. That compatibility also extends to the digital peripherals included in the S12VR, such as SPI, SCI serial modules, PWM and timer modules. A standard analog-to-digital converter, a temperature sensor, an internal oscillator module and external oscillator pins are also available.
The S12VR combines all the elements of a system to save valuable PCB space, simplify design and increase overall system quality. A smaller PCB means smaller enclosures for automotive applications where every bit of weight removed increases fuel efficiency. The integration of different components on the S12VR reduces time to market by requiring less development time to get to a complete solution.

評估板S12VR64EVB
The S12VR64EVB features the S12VR64, an automotive 16-bit MCU. This family integrates an S12 microcontroller with a LIN physical interface, a 5V regulator system to supply the microcontroller, and analog blocks to control other elements of the system which operate at vehicle battery level. The S12VR family uses many of the same features found on the S12G family, including error correction code (ECC) on flash memory, EEPROM for diagnostic or data storage, a fast analog-to-digital converter (ADC) and a frequency modulated phase locked loop (IPLL) that improves the EMC performance. This guide will show how to quickly connect the board to a host PC, and execute a demonstration application preloaded into Flash memory.
The S12VR64 evaluation board allows for access to all of the pins. An on-board relay is available for evaluating the relay driver operation. 12-volt motor loads up to 13A can be supported with an external, high current power supply.
The S12VR64EVB includes an integrated USB link for debugging without an external debugger. The CodeWarrior Development Tool Suite and additional S12 development software support are available for rapid application development.
